Full Text Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology converts image files created during the scan process to a searchable text file. Using the OCR process, IQWEST converts scanned documents into a file format which can be indexed for high-speed word searches.

Our OCR software produces substantially better results than OCR engines used by service bureaus or found in "off the shelf" software. Our six engine process uses six voting mechanisms which provide an extraordinary 99+% rate of accuracy on 3rd generation or newer scanned images! Users can search for documents with a simple search, using keywords, an advanced Boolean search, or by using our Rockfish Concept Analyzer to find relevant documents.

Original formatting is preserved in the OCR output in most instances, including the use of photos, diagrams, headers or tables. Results are linked maintaining the OCR page to original image relationship. (You can now relate search results immediately without searching through many pages of images)
