TOPICQWEST

TopicQwest is a Bayesian II categorization tool which can look through terabytes of unstructured text and create structure by topics mentioned within the narrative of each document or e-mail. TopicQwest indexed files can be loaded by topic into the CaseQwest intelligent folders -- this is a sizable advantage for clients about to begin a document review. Many irrelevant or non-responsive files can be summarily reviewed and cataloged as such. Documents requiring closer scrutiny by a specialist can be organized by intelligent folder through the TopicQwest indexing process so that the appropriate specialist is looking at documents requiring his expertise. Combined with the intelligent foldering mechanism of CaseQwest, we will be able to create topic guides within that folder system and literally populate each of those folders appropriately allowing for document reviewers to more efficiently and more quickly get through the review process. This technology was developed by professors of linguistics, computational statistics and related fields and is licensed exclusively to IQWEST for the legal market worldwide.

Our state-of-the art technology allows us to extract semantic content ("topics") from large collections of text documents. These topics help users more easily discover information from thousands to millions of documents; find relevant information in less time and the technology is completely automated. It requires no prior domain knowledge, dictionaries, or subject headings. Our technology works in many languages, based on the latest Bayesian statistical models and has been scientifically proven.

The Topic Modeling Software automatically extracts, from a large collection of text documents, topics discussed in the collection, and the topic mix (or topic tags) associated with every document in the collection. The topics are automatically learned from patterns of co-occurring words throughout the collection. Technology in current commercial text mining software typically lags state-of-the-art by five years -- Our technology is based on current research by leading scientists in the field of text mining and language modeling. TopicQwest was recently presented to the Science Advisor to the US President, at the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy.
